Tuya officially declares support for Matter smart home standard

Tuya Smart, a leading global IoT cloud platform, has officially ensured its support for Matter, an obligation to make sure that the customers and business partners of Tuya can effortlessly join in the new smart home connectivity standard and can offer users with more suitable smart home experience.

Reports suggest that customers of Tuya and some of the prominent brands in the market, such as Geeni and Calex, are all planning to introduce a new series of consumer products that will also support the Matter standard in 2022 when the launch of a new communication protocol takes place.

Introduced by Comcast, Apple, Google, Amazon, and the CSA (Connectivity Standards Alliance), Matter seeks to offer an integrated smart home standard that allows interoperability between devices and smart home platforms.

Tuya being the member of the Board of Directors of CSA and one of the early members of the Matter Work Group has been extending its commitment to encourage universal open standards that allow the IoT products to securely connect and interact and also deliver technical support to the Work Group.

Additionally, it would also be working closely with key platform partners for certifying that the devices enabled with Tuya work with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Samsung Smarthings.

Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of Connectivity Standards Alliance, said that by joining the alliance, Tuya has worked to enhance interoperability and enhance the adoption of Zigbee technology.

Tobin added that the team is grateful to Tuya for supporting and committing to the Matter standards’ efforts.

Tuya’s support for Matter will not only allow its platform partners to be the first companies to release Matter-compatible devices but it will also offer consumers a wider variety of Matter-compatible smart home solutions.

Furthermore, by providing support to Matter, Tuya is enduring its effort to offer better connections between more devices and expanding compatibility for consumers.

Speculations have it that Tuya plans to continuously innovate and transform the future of connectivity together with other partners across industries.
