PhonePe to appoint around 2,800 new employees by December 2022

PhonePe, an online payments platform based in Bengaluru, has recently announced that it will be doubling its employee workforce by December 2022. The company is planning to employ 2,800 people and scale up its employee count to 5,400.

As per sources, PhonePe will be filling around 2,800 job roles in various domains like business development, engineering, product, analytics, and sales teams located in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and the rest of the country.

Manmeet Sandhu, Head of Human Resource at PhonePe, said that the firm is set to build a long-term sustainable organization based on technology, unlocking value for all. PhonePe and its team are esteemed as it has appeared as the employer of choice for smart and determined people eager to build outsized impact.

The firm provides the opportunity for people to learn and nurture by getting to work on some of the most intricate problems in the industry, added Mr. Sandhu.

Apart from hiring new workforce, PhonePe is enthusiastically investing in PhonePe university, an all-inclusive programme in tech that aims to fast-track learning and impact for engineers while also empowering the expansion of the ready-now engineering talent in the start-up ecosystem.

Mr. Sandhu further added that the progressive effort of PhonePe for building a vibrant, diverse and positive workplace was dignified last year by launching its Diversity and Inclusion Initiative.

Since then, the firm has increased including women in leadership roles, as well as hiring more people with disability and from the LGBTQI community.

The firm also acclaims that it provides far-better compensation compared to the market, has a below-market attrition rate, and offers wealth creation opportunities to all employees via its programme of ESOPs (employee stock ownership plan).

Furthermore, the digital platform has recently rolled out a ‘Mother@PhonePe’ programme specifically for mothers to offer them the option to come back and join the work as and when ready.

It has also launched the ‘Parents@PhonePe’ program, which encompasses secondary caregivers, inspiring a well-adjusted distribution of responsibilities among new parents.
