For an improved hybrid work experience, Microsoft will add new features to Windows 11 and Windows 365

American tech giant, Microsoft has unveiled its latest strategy and roadmap outlined with the aim of making Windows hybrid – which will provide users with a Windows experience that no longer relies on a specific device – with cloud-based Windows 365 at its core.

Microsoft redesigned its strategy after a large number of businesses and people willingly embraced the flexibility offered by hybrid working patterns during the pandemic.

An equal and opposite need for higher flexibility and face-to-face engagement is a primary factor driving Microsoft to work on future features for Windows 11 and Windows 365 in order to offer a superior hybrid work experience.

According to Jared Sparato, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft 365, the first step is to facilitate fluid interaction between the cloud-driven Windows 365, and the device-based Windows 11.

Thanks to the new features, Windows 365 and Windows 11 will work in conjunction allowing users to boost into the former cloud-based operating environment using the latter’s PC to operate it as an app alongside others.

Besides the ease of switching between the cloud and local environments, Widows 365 will also enable users to run it offline and reconnect to the cloud after the connection is restored.

With this, Microsoft will offer Windows experience on a user’s personal profile, ensuring mobility across devices instead of being tethered to a single specific device, and upgrade security to protect the flexible model.

For better work management when connected, Windows will provide users with timers that will restrict alerts and notifications during the set time, along with a ‘do not disturb’ mode.

Furthermore, Microsoft is working on multiple changes for supporting remote workers and devices with better application management for edge devices, auto-patching, remote help, and workplace messaging apps, enabling organizations to use Windows for sending messages to group chats.
