Karma introduces B2B electrification programme for commercial operators

Karma Automotive, an American manufacturer of electric vehicles, has recently unveiled a new B2B electrification programme called "Powered by Karma" to assist commercial operators to electrify their fleets more swiftly.

The new brand was introduced at the ACT Expo in Southern California in 2021, where the automaker is showing two modular electrification initiatives.

Karma Automotive was formed as an American premium EV automaker after Chinese auto-parts supplier Wanxiang Group purchased Fisker Automotive's assets in 2014. The Fisker Karma sedan, from which the new name was derived, was one of them.

The Revero, a modified version of the Fisker Karma, was introduced in 2016 by the rebranded automaker. The Revero GT, which would serve as the brand's centerpiece vehicle, was released shortly after.

Karma launched its new GS line of EVs in 2021, featuring the GS-6 PHEV and all-electric GS-e6. Karma Automotive is now going beyond the realm of electric passenger vehicles to assist commercial fleets in accelerating their electrification.

In a recent press release, Karma Automotive unveiled the new name, representing the automaker's array of engineering services and contract manufacturing solutions.

This week, Karma will unveil two new modular electrification vehicle concepts at the Advanced Clean Tech (ACT) Expo in Southern California as part of its new Business to Business (B2B) offering.

Karma's new business venture aims to deliver modular car electrification and contract manufacturing services to outside customers.

"Powered by Karma" will also develop modular, commercial-grade electrification solutions for Class 3-6 vehicles in various configurations. Electrified buses, RVs, vans, and box trucks fall within this category.

Dr. Lance Zhou, Karma's CEO, commented on the new approach – Karma, stating it to be a progressive, tech-forward company, is committed to forming partnerships with like-minded companies pushing the EV boundaries. Electrification is swiftly becoming the new norm for fleet and commercial vehicles.

The company has extensive expertise in producing hybrid and pure electric propulsion systems to fulfil customers' needs.
