Israeli cybersecurity firm Cider Security raises $38 million in funding

Cider Security, a startup that helps firms protect their systems during software development, has reportedly secured $38 million in a Series A investment funding round headed by Tiger Global.

Sources close to this move state that Cider Security will leverage this fresh funding for fast-tracking its engineering efforts and create more offices worldwide.

The startup, launched in late 2020, says that dozens of companies already depend on its platform to safeguard their software development environments.

Building an application includes much more than just writing code in the enterprise. After developers write a piece of code, it has to be tested to ensure no security exposers or any other issues.

After this, the software is required to be deployed to the company’s production infrastructure, which will include an influential number of steps.

Testing and code deploying were factually performed manually by the software teams. Today, several enterprises carry out the process automatically using a multifaceted collection of software tools that differ from company to company very often.

These software collection tools are CI/CD, continuous deployment, pipeline, and continuous integration. Cider Security helps firms protect their CI/CD pipelines from cyberattacks.

An organization’s CI/CD pipeline is a mark for hackers as it accomplishes the source code for business applications.

Acquiring access to a company’s source code hypothetically allows hackers to introduce security exposures into the tech environment or find the current issues and use them to launch cyberattacks.

Cider Security’s platform can scan the CI/CD pipeline of a firm for mapping out all the software tools included in the pipeline.

After this, the platform searches the potential security vulnerabilities which hackers could use for accessing or modifying codes.
