The recent hiring validates HCL’s commitment to the UK for accelerating innovation and generating digital talent pools in the region
Indian IT conglomerate, HCL Technologies has appointed 1,000 technology professionals in the UK that will be working in the fields of cloud, digital transformation, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI). According to reports, the newly hired employees would perform at the company’s Greater London, London and Manchester offices and would serve the UK market as well as other regions across the globe.
In an official statement, HCL mentioned that its CEO C Vijayakumar recently had a word with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a virtual meeting regarding the current Covid-19 crisis. The meeting was part of the Prime Minister’s virtual tour that focused on creating stronger business ties between India and the UK.
In the meeting, CEO C Vijayakumar reassured HCL’s commitment to the UK and emphasized on the company’s successful partnerships with several of the country’s largest corporations to support them on their growth and development journeys.
Mr. Vijayakumar said that “their firm is elated to have the opportunity to speak with UK Prime Minister, Mr. Boris Johnson regarding HCL’s vision for the regional market and appreciated UK’s continued support to India to navigate through the COVID-19 crisis”. He added that “creating new jobs in the UK will reaffirm HCL’s pledge to accelerate innovation and develop a competitive digital talent pools in the UK”.
In response, UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson said that “UK and India are two countries that are at the forefront of conducting advanced IT innovations. Credited to companies like HCL Technologies, the two countries can continue leading the way on creating skilled jobs and workforce that would help them built back better”.
Presently, HCL employs over 3,500 people across various locations, serving over 50 clients.
