Ferrari and Qualcomm partner to augment digital transformation

Qualcomm and its partners will be collaborating with the sports car maker to develop, design, and integrate digital cockpits of Ferraris

Ferrari, an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer based in Italy, has announced a strategic technology partnership with Qualcomm, an American multinational corporation headquartered in San Diego, California, that will be specifically aimed at hastening the process of digital transformation of the automaker and its cars.

The duo will be working to utilize the Snapdragon Digital Chassis, including the open and scalable cloud-connected platforms, for bringing the up-to-date automotive technology advancements to Ferrari's road cars, as per a statement.

While commenting on the collaboration, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said that the firm is pleased with this agreement as they expand their knowledge in digital technologies and web 3.0 areas with massive potential for motorsport and automotive.

Under this collaboration, Qualcomm and its partners will be working with the sports carmaker to design, develop, and integrate digital cockpits of Ferraris.

The partnership scope extends to the Ferrari eSports team and the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.

The chipmaker will be serving as a premium partner for the F1 team at the beginning of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship race season. The logo of Snapdragon will debut on the F1-75, the Ferrari single-seater which will be introduced at Maranello on February 17.

Earlier last month, Ferrari presented a new administrative structure and leadership changes to enrich product excellence and a on the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2030. Additionally, it plans to drive digital transformation throughout the firm, certifying more data-driven and digitally focused processes.

Furthermore, in December, the Italian firm has also announced a multi-year agreement deal with Velas, a global player in the blockchain and NFT sector, to create extraordinary digital content for Scuderia's fans.
