Digital Ally Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of innovative video recording products for emergency management, law enforcement, fleet safety, and security has reportedly announced its partnership with Pivot International (Pivot) to develop a new breathalyzer.
Sources cite that Pivot will incorporate Digital Ally’s recently granted patent, U.S. Patent No. 10,390,732, for the new breathalyzer. The patent was issued by the U.S. Patent Office in Aug. 2019 and is an extension of the company’s patented VuLink automatic activation technology.
The breathalyzer, once activated, could automatically record a video and later embed the meta-data captured onto it. This new device will only be configured with the company’s video recording devices. It will assist law enforcement officers in convicting suspects on illegal acts like driving under influence by authenticating and persevering the chain of custody of the meta-data captured by the device in the court of law.
Video recording and meta-data will automatically be stored and uploaded in Digital Ally’s back-office solution powered by AWS.
Stan Ross, CEO, Digital Ally, said that the company is delighted to partner with Pivot International to develop this innovative device. The product would stand out in the competition as it displays data captured on the recorded video. The company believes that the new breathalyzer could be a crucial tool for law enforcement officers, Ross added.
Mark Dohnalek, CEO, Pivot International meanwhile said that the company is delighted to collaborate with Digital Ally to develop its latest patent innovation involving breathalyzer. Pivot has expertise in bringing revolutionary devices to market in an efficient and timely manner. The company believes that the new product would become an industry-standard while offering a vital tool for law enforcement officers to enforce drunken driving laws.
Reliable reports cite that Digital Ally, following this announcement, jumped 17% in premarket trading.
