American e-commerce giant, Amazon has announced hosting its first-ever Career Day in India on September 16, bringing together Amazon leaders to discuss what makes the company a great place to work.
Amazon will demonstrate how it is planning to accomplish its commitment to supporting India in reaching its full potential in the twenty-first century.
One of the highlights of the Career Day will be a fireside talk with new Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who will share his own career experience and advice for job seekers.
According to Amazon, it will currently be creating for more than 8,000 immediate job openings in 35 Indian cities, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
In addition, Kolkata, Noida, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Pune, and Surat are also among the list. The firm will be hiring candidates in domains like corporate, technology, customer service, and operations.
Currently, Amazon employs more than 100,000 professionals across several domains like engineering, supply chain, operations, business management, and applied sciences.
The other domains include HR, analytics, marketing, content creation and acquisition, corporate security, video, music, real estate, and finance.
Deepti Varma, HR Leader, Corporate, Amazon APAC & MENA, said in an interview that the firm commits to creating around 2,000,000 direct and indirect jobs in India by 2025. Amazon has already opened 1,000,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Despite the pandemic, it created about 300,000 direct and indirect jobs across technologies, logistics, manufacturing, retail, and content creation.
The career day is planned to support all job seekers who are looking out for new opportunities and those who are willing to transform their career options. This is an opportunity for them to gain a better understanding of Amazon.
As part of the event, 140 Amazon recruiters will conduct around 2,000 free career coaching sessions with job seekers across India.
