VMware plans to acquire Nyansa to expand its SW-WAN portfolio

	The deal for the acquisition will close in the first quarter of the FY2021
	The terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the company yet


VMware, a leading provider of virtualization and cloud computing software and services, recently announced that it is planning to acquire a Nyansa, a California-based provider of AI-based network analytics. The acquisition deal shall come to a close in the first quarter of VMware’s financial year 2021. The companies have not disclosed the terms of the deal as of now.

Apparently, VMware has been aiming to join the AIOps platform for IoT security and network analytics provided by Nyansa Voyance with VMware SD-WAN through VeloCloud. The merging will be able to help VMware to extend its portfolio deeper into the enterprise campus as well as branch offices by adding software-based capabilities on both LAN and Wi-Fi devices. This will help provide a comprehensive data on application and network traffic performance to the users.

VP and GM of VeloCloud Business Unit from VMware, Sanjay Uppal commented that the acquisition of Nyansa will help increase the company’s delivery of troubleshooting capabilities and end-to-end monitoring for the deployment of LAN/WAN in the SD-WAN solutions. Nyansa has proven to be a solution that solves several shortcomings that concern recent vendor-specific solutions.

Nyansa, a company that was founded six years ago, currently evaluates the user network traffic from over 20 million client devices in a large number of customer sites. The company has a number of renowned customers such as Uber, GE Healthcare, Stanford University, Tesla, Lululemon and DF International Airport.

Abe Ankumah , CEO of Nyansa said that both VMware and Nyansa sit perfectly aligned in products, culture and technology. He further elaborated that after the deal for the acquisition is closed, the company will keep advancing its multi-vendor network analytics platform based on AI as well as double down on the IoT operational assurance and end-to-end user experience.
