Ultrahuman takes over consumer-focused wearable company LazyCo

Ultrahuman, one of the leading advanced metabolic fitness platforms, has recently announced that it has successfully acquired LazyCo, a consumer-focused wearable company recognized for creating the Aina Ring wearable.

Sources close to this move state that after this acquisition, founders of LazyCo – Yogansh Namdeo and Apoorv Shankar – will join Ultrahuman to lead its development of hardware products.

Furthermore, Ultrahuman's hardware development team will be uniting with LazyCo to enhance its user experience and assist in improving the global metabolic health standards, said the firm in a statement.

It will also be utilizing LazyCo team's expertise to develop deeper metabolic and health insights for consumers.

While commenting on the move, Mr. Shankar said that the long-term vision of Ultrahuman of making health more impactful and personalized for people is in line with the vision of LazyCO for building products that will solve problems for people in the easiest ways.

Mohit Kumar, Co-founder of Ultrahuman, mentioned that they wish to make being healthy easy. The team of Ultrahuman believes in passive personalized health, precisely in a health platform that requires very fewer efforts from the perspective of the user. This lines up perfectly with the philosophy of LazyCo, he added further.

Reportedly, the startup has unveiled a platform for a metabolic wellbeing tracking device that offers intellectual notifications based on glucose biomarkers through a wearable known as Ultrahuman M1. It supports people to optimize their sleep, nutrition and exercise based on deep insights from the platform.

As for LazyCo, it was established by Namdeo and Shankar in 2017, who transited to become product designers from engineers. Its top-leading product was an AI-powered smart ring called Aina Ring designed to automate and predict daily tasks without the requirement to take the phone out of the pocket.

The startup claims that digital tasks like booking cabs, activating SOS alerts, controlling smart home devices, and taking phone calls are easier and faster via the ring.
