Sony plans to release next-generation of NUCLeUS for hospitals

The electronics giant is looking forward to putting forth the next-generation of its Smart Imaging Platform to offer hospitals a streamlined digital imaging work-flow.

Sony, the leader in electronics for the professional and consumer markets, reportedly plans to release a new and more user-friendly workflow version of its medical imaging platform NUCLeUS™. The next-gen platform will offer hospitals a streamlined digital imaging work-flow to create valuable efficiency improvements, along with supporting 4K resolution.

Reportedly, the platform is designed to easily route & deliver key information, such as audio, visuals or other pertinent clinical data whenever and wherever it is required across the hospital campus. NUCLeUS is also expected to offer hospitals with wide-ranging benefits, from cost-effective interacted medical image content management to enhanced training & education tools.

Moreover, with secure and simple access from anywhere across the IP networks of hospitals, professionals will be able to capture and manage audio-visual content in real-time for centralized storage & access through Sony’s proprietary platform NUCLeUS, offering operational efficiencies and new workflows.

As per credible sources, the platform is also designed to streamline the workflow in laboratory facilities and operating rooms by providing fast access to relevant imaging data through an easy-to-use central dashboard. Additionally, it is intended to aid customers with a virtually real-time transmission function to assist management teams & clinicians to make more informed decisions.

Theresa Alesso, Pro-division President, Sony Electronics, was reportedly quoted saying that the company is a leader in 4K & IP technology in the production and broadcast field, and it is a natural improvement for these technologies to aid the healthcare sector with the same efficiencies and benefits.

She claims that Sony will provide a digital, modality neutral solution to address the demands of integrators and of O.R. managers, with the next-generation of NUCLeUS platform. She added that as connected devices penetrate hospitals, clinicians will gain new proficiencies to centrally distribute, store and collect medical imaging files across hospital’s network, resulting in more effective & informed patient care.
