RealNetworks to integrate SAFR™ with live video management software
SAFR™ for Security delivers high-performance and has remarkably accurate facial recognition to help security teams in protecting facilities, people and assets more effectively
RealNetworks, Inc., a leading digital media services and software company, has recently confirmed a strategic partnership with Milestone Systems to offer the seamless integration of RealNetworks’ SAFR™, world’s foremost live video facial recognition platform, with Milestone’s XProtect® Video Management Software (VMS).
According to RealNetworks, the integration would assist security professionals in protecting facilities, people and assets more effectively. SAFR™ for Security supposedly provides live video overlays, automatic bookmarks and notifications through the Milestone XProtect interface directly, and is now available for global deployment.
The company said its SAFR™ for Security delivers high-performance and has remarkably accurate facial recognition, allowing security professionals to identify threats, concerns, strangers and unrecognized persons, employees, VIPs or any other targeted individuals in recorded and live video using video overlays directly accessible through Milestone XProtect interface.
Supposedly, with this partnership, security teams utilizing XProtect would be able to customize real-time alerts with SAFR™ for automatic notifications in case a person of interest appears on a live video camera feed. RealNetworks claims the automated bookmarking of SAFR™ enables users of Milestone to carry out forensic or investigative analysis.
SAFR™ seemingly attaches rich metadata to a video footage, helping security professionals to search by location, time range, person type, category and registered individual, eliminating the need to sift through hours of video for finding a person.
Jeremy Scott, Milestone’s Strategic Alliances Program Manager for Americas, stated that integrating SAFR™ for Security with Milestone XProtect software enables their customers to reach a new security level effectively. The AI-powered facial recognition technology of SAFR™ represents a next-generation security to offer a safer environment, he commented.
Reportedly, the underlying SAFR™ platform is optimized for detecting and recognizing faces in a live video owing to its excellent accuracy and performance. It can be deployed over a single computer system to monitor a few IP cameras or scaled up to thousands of cameras in various premises.
