OpenAI releases ChatGPT’s advanced version GPT-4, a multimodal model

The popular AI (artificial intelligence) research lab, OpenAI has reportedly unveiled GPT-4, the latest edition of the remarkable AI system that runs ChatGPT. Apparently, the lab claims it to be more innovative, less prone to making up facts, and less biased than its forerunner.

Sam Altman, the co-founder of OpenAI, referred to the new model as its most robust and accurate model yet and described it as a ‘multimodal’ version that can accept both texts as well as pictures as inputs, enabling the user to ask queries about images. Also, the updated version can process large amounts of text input as well as recall and respond to over 20,000 words at once, allowing it to accept a novella prompts.

The latest model is now accessible for ChatGPT Plus customers, the paid-for model of the ChatGPT chatbot that contributed some of the training examples for the newest update.

Furthermore, OpenAI has also collaborated with commercial partners to deliver GPT-4-powered solutions. The English-speaking members of Duolingo Max, a subscription service tier of the language learning program, can have access to AI-powered chats in French or Spanish and may utilize GPT-4 to clarify the errors that language learners have made.

On the other side of the equation, payment processing firm, Stripe deploys GPT-4 to respond to support queries from business users and to assist in identifying potential fraudsters on the firm's support forums.

Greg Brockman, the co-founder and president of Open AI, offered users a quick glimpse of the image-recognition features of the most recent version of the platform on Tuesday. This version is not yet available to the public as it is being tested by a firm called Be My Eyes.

As per sources, the feature will enable GPT-4 to reply to photos that are uploaded with prompts, evaluate them, and respond to questions or carry out tasks based on them.

Several user complaints about the previous model of OpenAI's system, according to the company, have been addressed or improved with GPT-4.
