Kia, Hyundai Motors ink joint research agreement for mobility solutions

Renowned automotive manufacturers, Kia and Hyundai Motors, have reportedly signed a mutual research agreement with 6 Korea based research institutes and have formed a consultative body to manufacture mobility solutions to explore the Moon’s surface.

The declaration stems from Korea’s successfully launched internally manufactured rocket in June.

Notably, both the firms have mastered limitless possibilities for mobility expansion via ground-breaking technologies like Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and robotics.

As per sources, Kia and Hyundai have been planning to expand their vision beyond the limits of Earth and in space. Yong Wha Kim, Head of Research and Development planning and coordination center and Executive Vice President of Kia and Hyundai motors, stated that the companies have taken their initial step towards revamping their perspective for robotics and the concept of Metamobility into reality.

Yong mentioned that the firm would diversify the scope of human movement experience ahead of conventional means of transport and the boundaries of Earth to further add to the progress of humankind to assist in forming a better future.

According to credible sources, the signing ceremony took place in Korea and saw participation of Chung Kook Park, Head of Research and Development Division and President of Kia and Hyundai Motors, along with the top officials from the 6 Korean research institutes.

The research institutes include Korea Aerospace Research Institute, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Automotive Technology Institute, Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, and Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology.

Apparently, the partnership is expected to begin in early August and the consultative body will determine the concept of major core technologies and lunar exploration mobility while reviewing and developing implementations and strategy measures to function on the moon.

Not to mention, Kia and Hyundai Motors will back the consultative body with their advanced mobility technologies.
