Just Eat to offer 1,500 new job openings at its Sunderland office

British online food order and delivery service, Just Eat have recently revealed plans to open a customer care center in northeast England, employing 1,500 people and retaining jobs back from India and Bulgaria.

Just Eat claims that it would invest around £100 million in the region in the next five years, with staff working partially from its new Sunderland-based office and partially from home.

Andrew Kenny, the company’s managing director in UK, said that their firm would bear the extra cost of bringing staff in-house as it allowed them to offer better service to customers.

Much of its customer service was operated from outsource regions such as Bulgaria and India. However, its management have noticed a rise in customer satisfaction by services that were provided by 300 employees who have been hired in Sunderland.

Mr. Kenny claims that the experience of functioning this model around several other locations worldwide demonstrates the firm's overall service to both its customers and restaurants increases very eloquently.

The company is already witnessing an increase in customer satisfaction scores for agents working at Sunderland. Just Eat will respond to feedback and patterns more swiftly supported by new jobs brought into the company, he added.

Sources cite that the new employees joining Just Eat will operate in a hybrid model, working part-time from home and part-time in the company's office in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland.

Just Eat's £100 million UK investment news comes as the organization is estimated to exit the FTSE 100 once the directory of blue-chip stocks is rearranged on 1 September.

Just Eat has upheld listings on exchanges in the US, Amsterdam and London since it took its US peer Grubhub this year. However, it is supervising an assessment of its stock markets and have already warned shareholders that this may not be finished in time for the next Russell review in August.
