IBM’s AI cybersecurity platform Watson now available for Indian firms

IBM has reportedly started the provision of their AI powered platform Watson, to detect and resolve cybersecurity threats faced by organizations in India.

Cybercrime has become a massive source of organized crime in the 21st century, in India as well as across the globe. Reports suggest that the global economy will face a loss of over $2 trillion by the year 2021, making it the biggest threat to companies worldwide.

A recent study by IBM-Ponemon Institute shows that nearly 79% of firms in India do not have a CSIRP (computer security incident response plan) for security across operations. The 2019 reports also suggest that the threat scenario for breaches has risen considerably and continues to rise at an alarming rate.

Organizations traditionally hire a team of cybersecurity experts to ensure the safety of their data, either associated with vendor companies or through direct employment. The IBM Watson platform will enable Indian companies to safeguard their data against breaches and theft through an automated cybersecurity system rather than relying on a manual workforce.

According to a report by Nasscom, DSCI and PwC, cybersecurity is projected to be valued at approximately $35 billion by 2025, which will create over a million jobs and facilitate nearly 1,000 startups.

IBM’s Artificial Intelligence platform Watson for Cybersecurity will save IT teams in Indian forms a considerable amount of time by detecting cyber threat scenarios nearly 50% faster than other security systems. Artificial Intelligence is the future of cybersecurity and is currently the most efficient way to safeguard data and sensitive information against cyber criminals.

IBM Watson uses machine learning and natural language processing technologies, which help train the system to comprehend the language of security.

In addition to other cutting-edge facilities, IBM Watson has the ability to automatically detect and classify sensitive information and reveal risks related to compliance. The system can also monitor data access, recognize anomalies, and prevent loss of data with comprehensive data monitoring across files, databases, Hadoop distributions, NoSQL platforms and more.
