American technology major, Google LLC has reportedly removed the feature of unlimited group video calling from its video calling application ‘Google Meet’ for free account users. As per sources, users will now be limited to one hour of group video calling and will be notified after 55mins that the call will be ended soon.

However, the host can update their Google account to extend the call to avoid ending it after 60 minutes, stated the company in an update. Although one-on-one calls will be accessible for 24 hours, while calls with three or more people will be available for 60 minutes.

Initially, Google provided unlimited calls for 24 hours in the free version of Meet for Gmail accounts until the end of June. Last year, the company stated that anyone with a Google account could create free meetings with no time limit with up to 100 participants during the pandemic.

Incidentally, Google's collaboration and cohesive communication services, Workspace became available to everybody with a Google account last month. With Google Workspace, individual subscribers can conduct one-on-one or group calls with three or more participants for up to 24 hours.

At present, Google has three billion-plus existing users who have access to the full Google Workspace offerings, including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Chat, Sheets, and more.

In other news, Google recently rolled out a new feature in its Search app for iOS that will allow users instantly delete browsing history of the last 15 minutes. The company has hinted that this feature will available on its Android Google app by later this year.
