Geely’s Farizon Auto unveils concept electric semi-truck ‘Homtruck’

Geely’s commercial vehicle brand, Farizon Auto has reportedly launched Homtruck, its new electric semi-truck concept that it plans to production and commence deliveries by 2024.

The Chinese automaker has also revealed plans to deliver the Homtruck semi in the international market, including North America.

Geely had recently announced the preliminary unveiling of Farizon Auto’s semi-truck ‘Homtruck’ in a press release. It has been derived from the unique aspiration of its inventors, which refers to building a truck that feels like home.

For those unaware, Geely, or Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., is an international automotive manufacturer headquartered in Hangzhou, China. Apart from manufacturing its vehicles under its Geely Auto brand, the company also possesses Volvo Group, which manufactures Volvo and Polestar EVs.

Geely is also allied with Lotus and ZEEKR, its newest premium EV brand. In addition, Farizon Auto is seated under Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, one of few commercial vehicle manufacturers that focuses on net-zero carbon transportation.

Major products of Farizon Auto have been light commercial vehicles and urban buses and coaches. The core drivetrain technologies for these vehicles are manufactured in-house, with emphasis on clear electric solutions and range extension. The company also developed a methanol fuel powertrain in 2019.

Looking forward, Geely and Farizon will be delivering one of the cleanest and most tech-advanced commercial EVs with the announcement of Homtruck electric semi-completed with its exterior kitchen.

As per Farizon Auto, its engineers have calculated the needs of commercial vehicle drivers and fleet operators through the hardware and software development process of Homtruck.

The automaker plans to offer greater efficacies during the commercial transportation network while providing a comfort level to drivers who will spend a lot of time in the semi-truck.

Sources state that the Homtruck’s cockpit will come with a bathroom with a toilet and shower, a single bed, a kitchen with a tea maker and refrigerator, as well as a small washing machine.
