EU, China ink deals to reinforce partnership on civil aviation safety
The agreements will enable passengers to benefit from safer, economical, and greener air travel options
The European Union (EU) has reportedly signed two agreements on civil aviation with China that are aimed at creating jobs, boost growth and bring the people and continents closer together.
Apparently, the agreement falls under the Aviation Strategy of Juncker Commission for Europe which would be promoting growth and innovation in the industry and will enable passengers to benefit from safer, economical, and greener air travel options.
The dual agreements are namely the Agreement between the European Union (EU)and China on Certain Aspects of Air Services and Agreement on Civil Aviation Safety between the EU and China.
Jean-Claude Juncker, European Commission President, stated that EU firmly hopes the nations working together would make the world safer, stronger and more prosperous place for all the people.
Citing reliable sources, the key objective of the bilateral civil aviation safety agreement is to bolster worldwide trade and lessen costs around the sector by removing unnecessary duplication of administrative and evaluative processes.
Along with this, it would encourage cooperation between China and the EU on the bilateral goals of ensuring high level of security in the civil aviation sector and encouraging environmental compatibility, aligned with the standard placed out in the Aviation Strategy for Europe.
According to Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, China is considered as one of the most vital strategic partners of European Union and the country has attached a lot of importance to the exceptional relations on transport matters.
China and EU are mutually interested in connecting Asia and Europe, which makes it easier to move people, goods and services between China and Europe, and that applies to aviation sector too. This agreement will boost the trade of European Union in aircraft and associated product as well as ensure the highest levels of air safety, Bulc added.
