Coursera to offer online courses by USO for military community

A month after Google announced its partnership with Coursera for providing online certification courses, the United Service Organizations is now all set to collaborate with the leading online learning platforms.

Apparently, the alliance is expected to deliver free resources to help the military fraternity succeed in new careers or gain proficiency needed to achieve professional goals.

As part of the alliance, 3,000 Coursera licenses would be distributed via the USO Pathfinder Transition Program, which currently offers professional development services to USO members and their spouses through education, employment, mentorship programs, and financial readiness.

According to reliable reports, military members and military spouses enrolled in the Program would have an impeccable opportunity to select one Professional Certificate on Coursera to enhance their professional development.

The certification options would include Google IT Support Professional Certificate, Salesforce Sales Development Representative Professional Certificate, Facebook Social Media Marketing Professional Certificate, Arizona State University TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Professional Certificate, and IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate.

Commenting on the latest partnership, VP of USO transition programs, Lisa Elswick quoted that the organization is thrilled to have established a partnership with Coursera, as the certificate programs delivered through its USO Pathfinder Transition Program would emerge out to be an invaluable resource for those in the military community looking to cultivate new professional skillset. 

Lisa further stated that the USO partnership with Coursera would enable participants to complete courses remotely at their own pace, so military members and their families continue serving their nation, while augmenting their education.

Meanwhile, Coursera’s Chief Enterprise Officer, Leah Belsky mentioned that the learning platform is proud to collaborate with the USO to support Armed Forces by delivering service members and their families the access to job-relevant e-learning.

Besides, through this alliance, the service members would have a potential opportunity to rapidly develop new and in-demand skills to successfully transition into civilian employments.
