Carl’s Jr. to launch plant-based Beyond Famous Star® burger in Canada

The burger features Beyond Meat’s 100% plant-based patty to be cooked in Carl’s Jr.’s char broiler

Carl’s Jr., an American fast food restaurant chain, recently announced that it is planning to expand its partnership with Beyond Meat for the launch of Beyond Famous Star® with Cheese in Canada, which will be the product’s first expansion to an international market after its success in the US.

The Beyond Famous Star comes after Famous Star burger which is a fan-favorite in the restaurant. The burger features Beyond Meat’s 100% plant-based patty, entirely cooked over an open flame in char broiler provided by Carl’s Jr that packs the delicious flavor into the burger.

International CKE Restaurants’ president Mike Woida said that the company knew it was a right time for the addition of Beyond Famous Star to the company’s international menu owing to the massive success of Beyond Famous Star at Carl’s Jr. locations in the U.S., coupled with the positive consumer feedbacks in the Canadian location of the restaurant.

Woida further stated that the company is looking forward to partnering with Beyond Meat as a leading company in the plant-based market and deliver burger options that is cooked on fire.

For the record, CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., is a Tennessee based privately held company that has been running and operating Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., the two major regional brands known for innovative menu items like Made From Scratch Biscuits, Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders and 100% Black Angus Thickburgers.

Reportedly, Carl’s Jr. will be celebrating Beyond Famous Star’s arrival at different locations in Canada and the participating locations will offer buy-one-get-one-free burger for a week. The offer will start on September 9 and will continue till September 15 while the supplies last.

Hameed Jagani, Strategic Partnerships Director at Beyond Meat commented that the company is looking forward to expanding Beyond Famous Star in North America as the company had been a strong partner in the United States.
