The company plans to join various institutions in order to accomplish its new medical studies which focus on hearing, women’s health and mobility.

Apple Inc., a multinational tech company, has recently announced that it is planning to run three new medical studies, in fields ranging from hearing technology to women’s health, using the data collected from its customer’s Apple devices, who have participated.

As per reports, the move plays a crucial role in progressing the company’s expansion into the health space, with projects ranging from medical apps and hardware to medical studies. Additionally, it has employed several personnel for its health team in the past five years, like engineers, scientists and doctors.

Reportedly, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, has said that the company’s development in health, which is being led by the company’s chief operating officer, Jeff Williams, will be its biggest contribution to humanity.

Moreover, Sumbul Desai, Vice President of health, Apple, has recently launched the company’s annual fall hardware update, where it unveiled a bunch of updated applications, such as three new iPhones and a new version of the Apple Watch. Customers can register for the studies by downloading a free-to-use Apple Research app which would be available this fall.

As per reports, the company’s new medical studies cover the following sections:

Women’s health: The firm has constantly been adding latest features related to women’s health since 2014, but it received some pushback from its consumer when it released its HealthKit service that didn’t have reproductive tracking. Sources cite that the aim of the research is to study if common conditions like infertility, osteoporosis and polycystic ovary syndrome affect patients.

Hearing: The study focuses on the effects of sound exposure, in the long run, a comparatively modern area of focus for tech companies. The company has collaborated with the University of Michigan.

Mobility: Apple is also looking at how steps climbed and walking pace links to quality of life, heart health and several other aspects. Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the American Heart Association will partner with the tech company to conduct this research.
