In the recent news, Abbott has announced a three-year agreement to be the nutrition and health science partner of the Real Madrid Football Club and worldwide partner of Real Madrid Foundation. The Foundation is an institution established by the football club to extend the values inherited in sports to the children globally.

As per credible reports, the Real Madrid club is one of the most successful and renowned clubs in the world and is backed by nearly 600 million fans across the globe.

The club reportedly launched the Real Madrid Foundation in the year 1997 to help the cultural and social consolidation for children at-risk globally through teaching values, sports, teamwork, collaboration and physical fitness.

Swati Dalal, Abbott’s General Manager quoted the concerns of malnutrition that prevail amongst Indian children and its health effects which plague them for lifetime. Abbott’s and real Madrid’s mutual aim is to provide nutrition and nourishment to children globally in their mission towards a healthier future.

The Real Madrid Foundation, with the help of local partners, gather children from the at-risk areas, usually the rural and remote places. The schools oversee various activities like dental hygiene and healthy snacks and including social and environmental programs like healthcare facility visit.

Emilio Butragueño, Director of institutional relations for Real Madrid commented that through the partnership with Abbot and the Foundation’s help, their motive is to support children with varied aims to develop future engineers, lawyers and scientists and not just footballers.

For the uninitiated, Abbott will team up with Real Madrid Foundation Social Sports Schools to support children, which will contribute to its 2030 Sustainability Plan ambition. It also aims to revamp care facilities for diseases like malnutrition and infections to improve lives of nearly 3billion people.

According to reliable reports, the partnership will commence by the end of 2023-24 soccer season and work with the foundation in 42 countries to provide health and nutritional support.
